Announcement: Check out the IVTSF's open volunteer positions!
The IVTSF currently offers two core, paired resources designed to be used together in clinical and prenatal care settings:
1) Prenatal Patient Question Checklist
A patient-facing tool that empowers families to ask informed questions about:
Chorionicity, timing, and possible cause of loss
Monitoring, prenatal testing (including cfDNA/NIPT), and care planning
Maternal and fetal risks, follow-up needs, and delivery considerations
This checklist helps families navigate uncertainty during an ongoing pregnancy and supports structured, respectful patient–provider conversations.
2) Quick Provider Reference Guide
A concise, clinician-facing companion that includes:
Clear VTS definitions and typical ultrasound patterns with references to current guidelines
Documentation and memorialization considerations
Postnatal and neonatal follow-up guidance
Language and psychosocial support for compassionate care
Additionally, the IVTSF offers evidence-based guidance on:
What is known (and not yet known) about VTS management and care of VTS
The memorialization and respectful disposition of fetal remains.
