The IVTSF continues to grow its international Research Advisory Group, welcoming leading experts in maternal–fetal medicine, genomics, and twin research. This expansion strengthens collaboration and advances global understanding of multifetal pregnancy outcomes.
The IVTSF is leading multiple initiatives, including a Delphi study to build clinical consensus on VTS, development of provider training resources, and a joint position paper with international partners to improve recognition and documentation of pregnancies that begin as multiples.
The IVTSF contributed to major updates in SNOMED CT, including a new formal definition of Vanishing Twin Syndrome and the addition of a concept to better document ongoing pregnancies following twin loss. These updates will be released internationally in June 2026 and improve how VTS is recognized in clinical care and research.
